The next blood at Central United Methodist has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 28 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. As always, the need for blood donations is high. Covid precautions will be in practice as they have been in the past. The bar has been set high as we have forty-six time slots to fill. To register, go to redcrossblood.org enter CUMC in the box that says find a drive, select your time and put it on your calendar. Central has been recognized by the Red Cross as a strong supporter. Real Discipleship Survey

The Real Discipleship Survey is an instrument designed to support the development of maturing disciples at both the personal and congregational levels. It measures the level of maturity in each of six dimensions of discipleship: Worship, Hospitality, Open to Jesus, Obeying Jesus, Service, and Generosity. The Indiana Conference has purchased a conference-wide license which makes the survey free for all INUMC churches and congregants! You can find the links to the Real Discipleship Survey and the Instructions on our website at richmondcumc.com/exploring/

Prayer Partners

I have had multiple responses from prayerful people who would love to be partnered with a young person in our church. Many parents have also responded that they would love for their child to be a part of this great opportunity for prayerful connections!  We only have one more need at this time!  We are in need of some praying MEN who would love to pray for and encourage (via mail) a young man or boy.  If you feel God nudging you to join us in the Prayer Partner journey, please contact Sheri via email at sheri@richmondcumc.com  Thanks!

Light Up the Night

My name is Denise Ebacher, I live in Centerville, Indiana. I am currently working on a personal project that I call “Light Up the Night.” Let me explain, I have a passion for the elderly not just in our community but everywhere. They have been alone and cooped up for so long without visitors. I would love to do just a little something to brighten their day or night. I have a hobby of doing liquid lead stained glass pictures, vases, etc. My goal is to make stained glass night lights for the residents. I am currently working to provide them for the residents of Ambassador Nursing Home in Centerville, Indiana, and hopefully continue giving to the residents at other nursing homes around the area. I am in no way receiving any kind of payment for this. It is my way of trying to put a smile on their face even if for just a little while with the help of our community.

I have planned to put a note in each night light saying the following “A Gift of love from people who care.” That way my name is not on it and it is from everyone who has played a part in this project. I am asking for the following donations: Small vases of various sizes, canning jars, gallery paints, liquid leading, colored rocks, fairy lights (with a timer) that is so the residents do not have to remember to turn it off and on, AA batteries (most of those type of lights take AA), and small paint brushes. I thank you so much in advance for any help that you can give on this project. I can be contacted at 765-914-6061. Please call to make a donation, do not drop them off in the church office unless arrangements have been made.

Holy Week

• Maundy Thursday Experience – Jesus came to Passion week with a small group of friends.  Gather your household or bubble friends and walk through this experience to encounter Jesus’ final Passover – to encounter your God anew.  Small groups (2-8) will go station by station to act and reflect as we together prepare ourselves for Easter morning.  Gathered groups of pilgrims can journey through together every 5 minutes from the Parlor here at Central from 6-8pm.

• Good Friday Service at 7pm on Zoom – The terrible event of the crucifixion told through Jesus’ seven last words. Come as we again remember what our sin has done. Come as we remember that true love bleeds. The invitation link to come in a few weeks, stay tuned.

• Methodist Sunrise service at 7am at Cope Environmental Service – Join us for a joint Methodist service as we celebrate our risen savior at the breaking of dawn.

Easter Communion Service at 10am at Central UMC – HE. IS. RISEN.
