October 30th Updates

As we make the turn from October to November, please remember to Wear a mask, Wash your hands, and Watch your distance

REMEMBER TO TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK 1 HOUR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!

Central Leaf Pick-up
It is that time of year again! We will be picking up leaves starting Thursday, November 5th at 9:00am and will continue though Saturday November 7th. We plan on spreading out the work over a few days to keep everyone from getting too tired. The leaves in front of the church and east side need to be raked into 15th street curb. The leaves along 14th Street need to be raked into the 14th street curb. All others will need to be bagged for us to haul to Buckleys. If you are interested in helping out, contact the church office at 765-962-8543 or contact Dave Sheets. We need all the help we can get!

Technology Assistance Tutorials
The pandemic has placed a massive strain on our technology proficiency, understanding, and stamina. We want all of Central to be resourced and trained to the level desired. We will be offering an ongoing space and basic training on whatever question you may have in regards to computers, phones, technology, and all the programs in between. Luke Sheridan is willing to learn alongside you on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 3:30 in the Fellowship Hall starting October 28th. Bring your devices, questions, and desire to learn as we tackle whatever is before us together. Feel free to email Luke to better prepare him at lcsheridan1212@gmail.com.

Men’s Gathering
Thursday, November 5th at 6pm. Bring your own chair, drink, food (it can be something to cook over the fire), favorite snack, mask, and sense of survival for this socially distant men’s gathering around the original social networking site – the campfire. A space for men to connect and converse and enjoy food while centering on Christ. At Jack Hughes’ 9876 St Rd 227 N, on the left north of Whitewater. Dress appropriately

Community Emergency Relief Room
A big thanks goes out to those who have contributed to the Community Emergency Relief Room, especially over the past week. JC Penny knew about our Relief Room efforts and decided to donate their unliquidated clothing to our mission. For the most part, we are well stocked with men’s and women’s clothing. So, this makes our current need as shoes, children’s clothing, sweatshirts and sweatpants, bedding, and essential household and kitchen items. There is always something to do in the Relief Room. For example, there are clothes to inspect, sort and place in the appropriate location.  There are kitchen and household items to inspect and place on the shelves. We would like to encourage other members of our congregation to become a part of this effort. There is no heavy lifting. You can help whenever your schedule allows and the church office is open. To become part of the mission team, contact Dana Mollenkopf at 765-277-0287 or papamole@comcast.net and we’ll get you started.

Prayer Walk Monday at Noon

Prayer connects us daily to a loving God moving in our midst. Let us cover our streets in prayer as we lift up our community to this movement.  On the first Monday of every month at noon, we will have a prayer walk through our neighborhood. We will divide into small groups at the entrance of the church and proceed in different directions. Along the way, we will pause to pick up trash and renew our streets and sidewalks. Please contact Pastor Joseph with any questions.

Happy Birthday!
Ruby Clevenger, a long time member of Central, will be 99 on November 16th. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been able to attend services at Central due to travel and her health. Her family would really appreciate it if as many church members as possible could send her a birthday card. If you would like to send a card, please contact the church office at 765-962-8543 for the address of simply drop your card off during normal business hours.

If you would like to join us for lunch at noon, give me a call or text me at 765-994-1979. Ann Cashner, Pres.
