Community Emergency Relief Room

A big thank you goes out to our youth group for sorting and sizing our children’s clothing. It was greatly needed. Recently, assistance has been provided to two large families. Several household and kitchen items were provided to them, so that is currently our focus for donations. Think, if I were to lose everything, what would I need to replace. Those of the type of items we need to have on hand for future recipients. In closing, as a reminder, the Emergency Relief Room is a CUMC mission. While many referrals do come through the American Red Cross, it is not a Red Cross program. Your continued support of this mission is greatly needed and appreciated.

DONUTS!

Okay, now that I have your attention, would you be interested in helping save mouth-watering donuts from their donut funeral? If I can find some people who wouldn’t mind picking up donuts at least one day a week, they won’t have to be thrown away, and we can share them with our local shelters! Please contact me if this is a way of serving that would interest you. Thanks! ~ Pastor Jen

Helping without Hurting
Join us Sunday, February 21st in person, following the worship service. If you’d like to participate but would rather join us virtually, please contact a pastor or the church office. Have you ever thought about how poverty can be alleviated? What are possible long term solutions? How can we support lasting change in the lives of others? Join us for a few weeks during Lent to work through the book “Helping without Hurting in Church Benevolence” by Steve Corbett and Brian Fikkert. Books are available in the church office. At the call out meeting we will gather those interested and then set up meeting times from there. We look forward to continuing to work through how Central can continue to tangibly demonstrate the love of Christ not only in the church, but in the community around us. Contact the office or one of the pastors to be added to the list!

Real Discipleship Survey

The Real Discipleship Survey is an instrument designed to support the development of maturing disciples at both the personal and congregational levels. It measures the level of maturity in each of six dimensions of discipleship: Worship, Hospitality, Open to Jesus, Obeying Jesus, Service, and Generosity. The Indiana Conference has purchased a conference-wide license which makes the survey free for all INUMC churches and congregants! You can find the links to the Real Discipleship Survey and the Instructions on our website at richmondcumc.com/exploring/

Garage Sale Update

Many of you have asked if we will be having a garage sale this year. Plans are still in the works. While we appreciate your contributions, please hold on to your items until further notice.

Prayer Partners

I have had multiple responses from prayerful people who would love to be partnered with a young person in our church. Many parents have also responded that they would love for their child to be a part of this great opportunity for prayerful connections!  We only have one more need at this time!  We are in need of some praying MEN who would love to pray for and encourage (via mail) a young man or boy.  If you feel God nudging you to join us in the Prayer Partner journey, please contact Sheri via email at sheri@richmondcumc.com  Thanks!

Intentional Discipleship Workshop

Rev. Joseph Seger will offer tools and strategies for creating an intentional discipleship pathway for your local church or expression.  Clergy, staff, and laypersons are all invited to attend.  We are excited to offer the Intentional Discipleship Workshop over 3 Zoom sessions.

The workshop content is based on years of ministry experience and research by Dr. Phil Maynard.  Rev.
