Continued Coronavirus Concerns

2022 marks year four of Covid in the world, and numbers are higher than ever before.  Please continue to pray for all who are affected, all who are battling it, and all of our neighbors. Not all have chosen to fight against coronavirus in the same way, yet we are all in this fight together. Still, pandemic fatigue and the new wave of omicron are far reaching. As a people called to love our neighbors, please continue to offer your compassion as we battle through this latest wave. At Central, we continue to keep our sanctuary distanced. We continue to offer masks. We continue to offer online services for all who are hunkering down, have been exposed, are experiencing symptoms, or are just worn out from wondering what to do. We continue to be available throughout the week for whatever the need. We continue to pray and come alongside all our neighbors in these times. We continue to proclaim hope in Jesus, minister in the power of the Holy Spirit, and rejoice in the promises our God has given. Lord, hear our prayers.

Attending to the Homeless

Central will again be hosting a meal for the homeless during the annual Point In Time count on January 26th. The Point in Time Count is a nationwide, 24 hour census of our homeless.  If you are interested in helping with the meal, please connect with Pat Jarvis.  If you are interested in joining in the efforts of the count, please connect with Pastor Joseph.  If you would like to donate to the bags which will be handed out on that day, the following items will be collected in the office until the 23rd – Hand/body wipes; Hygiene care (small sizes): toothbrush, tooth paste, deodorant, Shampoo/conditioner in 1, body wash, comb, razor; Ponchos; Flashlights; Hand warmers; Snacks- peanuts, crackers, tuna/crackers, etc; Bottled water; Blankets; Gloves.

Cornerstone Sunday School Class
The Cornerstone class will begin to meet again on January 9 at 9:00am. We will be doing a 10 week study of the longest chapter of the Bible, Psalm 119. In difficult times we often wonder where is God in this? We will look at the words of King David who experienced similar seasons of life. Serving as the anchor for the study, Psalm 119 demonstrates the power of God’s Word in the lives of believers and its ability to provide a warm blanket for the soul. Please feel free to join us and if you have any questions contact Krissi Hughes at kristaannhughes@gmail.com.

Thank You!
I’d like to thank everyone for your prayers, cards, love, and support as I grieve over the loss of my mom. I take comfort in knowing she is resting with God in heaven. – Greg Scott
