Serving Refuge of Hope
Refuge of Hope has been an excellent ministry to some of the most vulnerable people in our neighborhoods – homeless women. They have overcome many obstacles and continue to serve with grace, love, and tenacity. Refuge has often been full and has recognized the need for expansion. They are currently planning to renovate the upstairs space at 1032 East Main Street to create more capacity, offer more ministry, and touch more lives with Jesus’ love. They are currently seeking teams who wish to aid in demolition and construction (eg. Swing a sledge hammer, carry out debris, etc.) to help them with this renewed vision. Refuge of Hope is in need of the following items: Toiletries and Cleaner, Paper towels, Laundry Soap, Dryer Sheets, new twin bed sheets, towels and washcloths. If you feel led to serve or give towards this effort, please contact the office to get connected. For all of us, let us pray for this work and these people.

National Day of Prayer
The Richmond area 2023 National Day of Prayer commemoration sponsored by RAMA will be next Thursday, May 4, 2023. Once again Unveiled church, 721 E Main St., Richmond, has graciously agreed to host and will be open beginning at 7:00 am through 7:00 pm for the community to drop in and pray individually. Prayer stations will be set up in the sanctuary with light music in the background. Light refreshments will be available in the gathering area. At noon – 1:00 pm, the community is invited to gather for a time of corporate praise led by the Unveiled worship team followed by a brief devotional led by Pastor Micah Level. We will then pray together with several local pastors and church leaders leading us in prayers of repentance and for revival in ourselves, our churches, our community, our nation, and our world.
A TIME for FELLOWSHIP, Sunday, May 7th
The AGAPE Adult Discipleship Class invites you to a time of fellowship and refreshments immediately following worship on Sunday, May 7th. PLEASE spend a few minutes with us building relationships with our Central family.
Dinners for Six
Starting in June and continuing through August, we will again be having Dinners for six –by popular demand. We have a lot of new people attending, making this a good time to get involved. Couples, singles, all adults are encouraged to sign up. Summer brings a whole host of new “outings”-picnics, cooking out, homemade ice cream etc. With everyone pitching in a main dish, a salad, or a dessert you have a dinner. OR, something even simpler-Lunch, Brunch, Coffee. Your group, your choice. While food is an enjoyable part of Dinners for Six, just as important is the fellowship. Around the table we hear each other’s stories, we build trust, and we learn to love better. Don’t miss this opportunity to know each other better and make friends for life. Sign up today and May 7th in the hall, or call the office, Jim Puckett, or BJ Toms.
Thank You
The Richmond Gideons want to thank Central for your gift of $256. This is tangible evidence of the love you and your congregation have for making the Word of God available to those whom otherwise might not have a copy. Thank you!

Invitation to Silence
CH Spurgeon writes, “There are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wider than speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God.” Christian Discipleship calls us to a road where we will inevitably encounter silence. We will gather at Hayes Arboretum from 9-3 to learn more about the spiritual discipline, to pray, and to be in silence. The cost is $10 and is open to the public. Lunch will be included.
