Continued Coronavirus Concerns
2022 marks year four of Covid in the world, and numbers are higher than ever before. Please continue to pray for all who are affected, all who are battling it, and all of our neighbors. Not all have chosen to fight against coronavirus in the same way, yet we are all in this fight together. Still, pandemic fatigue and the new wave of omicron are far reaching. As a people called to love our neighbors, please continue to offer your compassion as we battle through this latest wave. At Central, we continue to keep our sanctuary distanced. We continue to offer masks. We continue to offer online services for all who are hunkering down, have been exposed, are experiencing symptoms, or are just worn out from wondering what to do. We continue to be available throughout the week for whatever the need. We continue to pray and come alongside all our neighbors in these times. We continue to proclaim hope in Jesus, minister in the power of the Holy Spirit, and rejoice in the promises our God has given. Lord, hear our prayers.

The Cornerstone class will begin to meet again on January 9 at 9:00am. We will be doing a 10 week study of the longest chapter of the Bible, Psalm 119. In difficult times we often wonder where is God in this? We will look at the words of King David who experienced similar seasons of life. Serving as the anchor for the study, Psalm 119 demonstrates the power of God’s Word in the lives of believers and its ability to provide a warm blanket for the soul. Please feel free to join us and if you have any questions contact Krissi Hughes at kristaannhughes@gmail.com.
Thank You!
I’d like to thank everyone for your prayers, cards, love, and support as I grieve over the loss of my mom. I take comfort in knowing she is resting with God in heaven. – Greg Scott

Red Cross Blood Drive
An update on the blood drive held at Central United Methodist Church on December 21. We ended with 47 people registered for the drive. With eleven no shows and with four others not being able to donate due to low blood pressure and other factors, we ended with 36 units of blood being drawn to help with the critical blood shortage we are experiencing. Thanks again to all who supported this drive.

Thank You
As on December 21, 2021, the volunteers representing Central United Methodist Church retired from serving meals at the Rock Solid Ministry after 20 years of planning, preparing, serving and cleaning up the kitchen and dining area. In 20 years CUMC volunteers served 24,035 meals. Toni Reinke was the pioneer in getting CUMC involved with Rock Solid Ministry. She was also the leader for many years in planning hot meals plus all the work that went with serving meals. Other leaders that followed Toni were Betty Ingerman, Nettie Cates, and Becky Shaw. The financial support of Aileen Githens also helped in giving very good meals. Pastor David Eales and his staff were always supportive, helpful, and kind. THANK YOU TO ALL who made 20 years possible to feed those less fortunate and who volunteered in many capacities. THANK YOU, YOUR SERVICE MADE A DIFFERENCE.
