Please bring your 2023 pledge card (we will have more if needed) to the 10am service to offer it before our God. Together, we will ensure Jesus is central at Central. Together, we will make 2023 a year of love and blessing to those who gather, the community of Richmond, and beyond. Together, we will proclaim the hope in Jesus for another 200 years.
Central in the Schools
Richmond Schools have experienced a shortage of teachers and paraprofessionals this year. This does not mean our children must feel the consequences. The church can stand in the gap with a ministry of presence. Whether this is making copies, watching a hallway, answer phones or whatever – we can begin to make a difference, now. Please prayerfully consider giving an hour a week to serve in one of our three neighborhood schools (Test, Vaille, Starr). Background check forms and sign-up can be found in the church office.
Central Childcare needs you!
Like many organizations in our community, Central Childcare is hiring! We are looking for full and part-time employees to join our team. Starting pay is $10.50/hr. To apply, please contact Kathy George at 765-962-8543 or cumcchildcare@richmondcumc.com.
Don’t have the time to commit to a paid position but still want to help? We are also accepting volunteers! Volunteers are able to set their own schedules or be “on-call” as needs arise. To volunteer, contact Kathy George to set-up your fingerprinting background check and TB test. There is also some state-issued training that needs to be done before starting but all training can be done at Central and on your schedule. We look forward to working with you!
Central Childcare Donations Needed
Central Childcare is in need of some items. If you would like to donate, please leave your donations in the church office during our normal business hours. If you have any questions, please contact Kathy George at cumcchildcare@richmondcumc.com or 765-962-8543. Thank you!

Very often, we wait until Sunday morning for the Pastor to tell the people what the Lord has said. His desire is for everyone in the church to be able to read, interpret, and apply the Scriptures. On October 28th from 6pm – 9pm and the 29th from 9am to 3pm Dr. Smith will bring his True^North seminar to Central to teach all how to read the Word so that all may be discipled in the Word and feel confident that when we read the Bible we will know specifically what God is calling us to do. Reserve your spot by October 24th! Cost is $10 per person. Register by signing up in the main hallway or through Realm. For more information, please contact the church office.

Communities in Schools Undies for Sundies
“Undies for Sundies” is an effort by our Communities in Schools of Wayne County to address one of the most immediate needs of our children. Children of all ages and sizes are in need of under garments…both boys and girls sizes 4-18 are in need. The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. CIS of Wayne County believes that every student needs and deserves these “5 basics”
- A one-on-one relationship with a caring adult
- A safe place to learn and grow
- A healthy start and future
- A marketable skill upon graduation
- A chance to give back to peers and the community

Prayer Walk
Prayer connects us daily to a loving God moving in our midst. In his 3 Rules for Methodists, John Wesley calls us to both private and public prayer. On the first Monday of every month at noon, we will have a prayer walk through our neighborhood. We will divide into small groups at the entrance of the church and proceed in different directions. Along the way, we will pause to pick up trash and renew our streets and sidewalks. Please contact Pastor Joseph with any questions.
