Silent Retreat – March 12th
Can you hear it? Notifications, news, and the next ‘to do’ noisily need our diminishing attention. Rest and presence are held at bay by the sound of busyness echoing through our modern world and every minute. Our faith offers us ways to be present in the midst of such dizzying cacophonies. Silence and contemplation. Jesus taught this in his retreats to lonely places. You are invited to practice it at our Silent Retreat on Saturday March 12th from 8:30am-5pm at Hayes Arboretum. Silence lays bare and cultivates our inner life in God. Will you bear this? Lunch, water, coffee, snacks, and a book will be provided. What to bring: Bible, pen, journal, presence, appropriate clothes for walking through Hayes. Cost $10 (Scholarships are available). Sign up on Realm today!

New Members Class
During Lent we will be offering a New Members Class on Sunday Mornings in the Memorial Room. If this is your first Sunday or if you have been attending Central for years, this is for all called to commit prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness to Jesus here at Central. Paul tells us, “For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” Please contact Pastor Joseph if you are interested in attending or would like more information.

New Sunday Study – Engaging the Spiritual Practices
Have you ever wondered- Is there more to the Christian life? Is there something deeper than just attending worship, living a good life, and affirming a set of beliefs? As Methodists, we believe there is! We were made for loving union with God. In this Lenten study, we will explore the classic spiritual practices that draw us deeper into that union with God. These practices are channels of grace that enable us to grow into Christlikeness. Join us each Sunday, March 6th through April 10th, 9:00am, in the Fellowship Hall. Contact Pastor Phil with any questions.
The AGAPE Adult Sunday School class will attend the Lenten study from March 6th to April 10th We’ll gather again on April 17 in room 213.

Prayer Walks
Prayer connects us daily to a loving God moving in our midst. In his 3 rules for Methodists, John Wesley calls us to both private and public prayer. On the first Monday of every month at noon, we will have a prayer walk through our neighborhood. We will divide into small groups at the entrance of the church and proceed in different directions. Along the way, we will pause to pick up trash and renew our streets and sidewalks. Please contact Pastor Joseph with any questions.

UMW Meeting
UMW will present a program about the Surety Community Ladies Center, with Melinda Wilson as our speaker, on Thursday, March 10th at 1:00pm in Fellowship Hall. Creative Hands will also meet that day from 9-12, with lunch served at noon. Come join us for fun, food, and fellowship!
