STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY THIS SUNDAY!

Please bring your 2023 pledge card (we will have more if needed) to the 10am service to offer it before our God. Together, we will ensure Jesus is central at Central. Together, we will make 2023 a year of love and blessing to those who gather, the community of Richmond, and beyond. Together, we will proclaim the hope in Jesus for another 200 years.

Central in the Schools

Richmond Schools have experienced a shortage of teachers and paraprofessionals this year. This does not mean our children must feel the consequences. The church can stand in the gap with a ministry of presence. Whether this is making copies, watching a hallway, answer phones or whatever – we can begin to make a difference, now. Please prayerfully consider giving an hour a week to serve in one of our three neighborhood schools (Test, Vaille, Starr). Background check forms and sign-up can be found in the church office.

Central Childcare needs you!

Like many organizations in our community, Central Childcare is hiring! We are looking for full and part-time employees to join our team. Starting pay is $10.50/hr. To apply, please contact Kathy George at 765-962-8543 or cumcchildcare@richmondcumc.com.

Don’t have the time to commit to a paid position but still want to help? We are also accepting volunteers! Volunteers are able to set their own schedules or be “on-call” as needs arise. To volunteer, contact Kathy George to set-up your fingerprinting background check and TB test. There is also some state-issued training that needs to be done before starting but all training can be done at Central and on your schedule. We look forward to working with you!

True^North Seminar at Central – LAST CHANCE TO SIGN-UP!

Dr. Dave Smith was the professor of Bible at Indiana Wesleyan University for over 20 years. For the last several years, his great joy has been travelling around to churches to teach the laity how to read the Scriptures. Very often, we wait until Sunday morning for the Pastor to tell the people what the Lord has said. His desire is for everyone in the church to be able to read, interpret, and apply the Scriptures. On October 28th from 6pm – 9pm and the 29th from 9am to 3pm Dr. Smith will bring his True^North seminar to Central to teach all how to read the Word so that all may be discipled in the Word and feel confident that when we read the Bible we will know specifically what God is calling us to do. Reserve your spot by October 24th! Cost is $10 per person. Register by signing up in the main hallway or through Realm. For more information, please contact the church office.

TRIBE 56 Hayride

TRIBE 56 (Grades 5-12) will be gathering for a Hay Ride October 30th from 5:30 – 8:00 at the parsonage – 3245 Glen Hills Dr. Richmond, IN. We will be feasting on hot dogs, chips, and s’mores around a fire outside with drinks provided. There will be games and music as well. We will be picked up there on a hayride through Hayes Arboretum. Dress warm and bring a friend (and maybe a blanket)

Trick or Treat in the park 2022 – NEXT SATURDAY!!!!

The 2021 Trick or Treat in the Park was such a success that Central has been asked to return in 2022. Our theme for this year’s booth is “So Sweet to Trust in Jesus.” If you would still like to volunteer, please contact the church office at 765-962-8543 or email Christin at christin@richmondcumc.com. Thank you to those who have signed-up already! WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF CANDY DONATIONS! We are expecting close to 1,000 kids and community members to attend Trick or Treat in the Park and would love to have enough candy to pass out to everyone. Candy donations can be placed in the office during our normal operating hours of 9-12 and 1-5 Monday through Thursday and 9-1 on Fridays. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.

Communities in Schools Undies for Sundies

“Undies for Sundies” is an effort by our Communities in Schools of Wayne County to address one of the most immediate needs of our children. Children of all ages and sizes are in need of under garments…both boys and girls sizes 4-18 are in need. We are asking if you could please join us in this effort to eliminate one important barrier for these children to be able to participate and achieve in their everyday education. The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. CIS of Wayne County believes that every student needs and deserves these “5 basics”

  1. A one-on-one relationship with a caring adult
  2. A safe place to learn and grow
  3. A healthy start and future
  4. A marketable skill upon graduation
  5. A chance to give back to peers and the community

Thank You, Amy Hubbell, Board Member Kathy Khamis, Site Coordinator at Starr Elementary School Marci Lindahl, Site Coordinator at Test Intermediate School
