Tribe56 Lesson & Game Night

All 5th & 6th graders are invited to join us at Tribe Sunday, 10/3, from 5-7pm! This is a great opportunity to get the full “Tribe experience” with the 7th-12th graders. Our juniors and seniors have been brainstorming ideas to lead the Bible study and games this weekend. Snacks will be provided. An exciting and fun time!

Prayer Walks

Prayer connects us daily to a loving God moving in our midst. In his 3 rules for Methodists, John Wesley calls us to both private and public prayer. On the first Monday of every month at noon, we will have a prayer walk through our neighborhood. We will divide into small groups at the entrance of the church and proceed in different directions. Along the way, we will pause to pick up trash and renew our streets and sidewalks. Please contact Pastor Joseph with any questions.

New Directory

It is good to be in connection with the body of Christ. It is also good to know how to contact our fellow Central family. Central has not had a directory for a few years. The time has come again. Sunday, Oct. 3rd, a table will be set-up under the portico for you to update your family’s information. We will be able to take your picture on the spot, or schedule you for a more formal photography session. Additional times to update your information will be held throughout the weeks following. For more information, please contact the office.

Family Fall Festival • October 31st 5pm-7pm

We are looking for many volunteers to help pass out candy to our visiting neighborhood kids and their families! You are not required to dress up but we encourage you to have fun! We are also looking for a few volunteers to help with simple games, setting up and cleaning up, and greeting our guests as they come.

We are also in need of candy donations to pass out to our visitors. These donations can be dropped off in the office workroom during our normal business hours. If you would like to volunteer, or have any questions please call the office at 765-962-8543 or email Christin at christin@richmondcumc.com or Pastor Phil at Phil@richmondcumc.com

PECANS!!

UMW will be selling PECANS. They will be $12 per one pound bag. You can order halves or pieces.  Contact Shanron Rider or Martha Hayes.

Sunday Greeters

After a long absence due to Covid we are resuming the greeters program to welcome members and visitors to our church. We would appreciate your help in greeting church goers. We will follow the protocols established for Covid. We like to have 2 volunteers each Sunday 20 minutes before Church begins. We are making some changes to the way we have done this in the past and would appreciate suggestions as to how to make the program better. There will be a sign-up sheet available in the main hall way.

Hands of Hope

Central has been approached to come alongside the expansion of the Hands of Hope ministry in Wayne County. Hands of Hope has heard of Central’s history of adoption, coming alongside foster families, recent work with Indiana Kids Belong, and our Emergency Resource Room. Hands of Hope will be coming to Wayne County on October 20th to share more information. Please check out this ministry at https://handsofhopein.org/index.php and be in prayer about ways we can come alongside. If you are interested in serving/attending, please contact Pastor Joseph.

Wayne County Jail Ministry

I was in prison and you came to visit me … I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:36, 40)

Visiting prisoners has been and continues to be a hallmark of Christian ministry. Paul wrote several letters from prison. Jesus, Peter, and John all spent time in prison. The invitation continues to us today. The Jail Ministry for the Wayne County Jail is seeking followers of Jesus to serve on its visitation, Crisis Ministry, and Jail services teams. To do so, you will first need to complete an orientation. Fill out the attached application and bring it with you to the scheduled orientation or you may mail it to the address on the application. We have two orientations scheduled with our Jail Administrators; Thursday October 21st at 10am and Saturday October 23rd at 10am. These orientations will be held in person at the Sheriff administrative offices on the second floor of the Wayne County Jail, 200 East Main Street Richmond Indiana.
