MAY PSALM SERVICE
Our May PSALM service will
be held on Saturday, May 17th, at 6:00 p.m. This
month Pat Heiny will be our featured speaker. April’s service
was very well attended and was a blessing for everyone there. Those
attending in May are sure to be blessed again with this time of song,
praise, prayer and sharing. Afterwards, browse for a few minutes and
share some snacks as we spend some time in fellowship. Mark your calendar
TODAY. (Nursery service is provided).
A WALK IN THE GORGE
Dig those walking shoes out
of the closet, put on comfy clothes, grab a water bottle and join
us for a mid-day walk at the Gorge. Weather permitting, we will meet
at the Test Road entrance at 1:00 p.m., April 17th. Walk at your own
pace. We usually walk 40-60 minutes.

VACATION BIBLE
SCHOOL 2008
FROM THE MARKETPLACE
TO THE POWER LAB
For the past three summers we
have enjoyed Vacation Bible School programs that featured a Bible
times marketplace. Terrific experience for young and old were offered
by “seeing the Bible” come to life through costumes, crafts,
skits, music, and stories. This year there was not a new marketplace
curriculum available but we (the Christian Education Task Force) are
excited about another VBS program offered by Group Publishing called
POWER LAB-Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power!
From June 23rd to June 27th Central will be transformed
into Lab stations that present opportunities for our children and
youth to take part in fun Bible learning they can see, hear, touch,
and even taste! Bible Point crafts, team-building games, lively Bible
songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the Power Lab activities
that help faith flow into real life. Every day kids choose a Daily
Challenge (a take home challenge) an exciting way to live out what
they’ve learned.
We are particularly excited about our mission project this year called
Operation Kid to Kid that has become one of the world’s largest
child-to-child service outreach programs. The outreach this year is
to South African children and the tool to reach the children there
will be soccer “GO” (gospel outreach) balls. Kids can
appreciate the fun, teamwork and friendships associated with playing
sports. SO our kids definitely should be able to feel empathy for
children who don’t have toys or even a ball to play with. Our
children will sign the special GO balls and pray for the children
who will receive them as well as the “Coaches” who will
minister to the kids in South Africa. There is much more involved
daily in the project. We hope you can see how worthwhile and exciting
this mission project will be for our kids.
We ask that you begin to pray about how you can serve in this years’
VBS to make it a Lab full of life lessons for one and all!!
