NEWS FROM
THE FOOD PANTRY

The Richmond Community Food Pantry desperately needs truck driver volunteers to help pick up food. This happens during daytime hours. Help is needed on the 2nd Wednesday of the month to pick up food from the Gleaner’s truck in the Kroger parking lot. Help is needed also at other odd times when donated food is received from other sources in the area. All that is required is a valid driver’s license and a CDL physical, which Reid Hospital and Health Care has offered to do for no cost. No CDL certificate is required.
The Pantry could also use a list of names to call when food is delivered to help transfer food from the Gleaner’s truck to the Pantry’s truck and also to unload at other times. There will be a shortage of help in July and August because present volunteers will be away. It would be great if the Pantry could compile a list of volunteers to call when needed.

Volunteers are needed to shelve food at the Pantry on the 3rd and 5th Mondays of the month. This need is urgent and the Pantry hopes that there is someone in the congregation who can help or knows of someone who could be available. If you are interested in participating, please call 962-1145.

You are invited to help CENTRAL UMC as we reach out to our community through the "BREAD BASKET"

This ministry is a cooperative through
ROCK SOLID MINISTRIES

This local project offers nutritional meals on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:00 p.m. for those in need at: 1024 East Main St., Rock Solid Ministries.

If you would be interested in volunteering some of your time to help with this wonderful ministry, please contact Donna McKinley at 962-1917. If you would like to donate a purchased pie (15 pies are needed), please contact Wanda Puckett at 962-2758. *All volunteers must wear a hair net or a ball cap.

Central’s day at the Bread Basket is the third Tuesday of the month.

We have lost a few of our volunteers and would be so happy if you know of anyone who would like to help out a few times a year. We work the 2nd Monday and the 4th Friday of each month from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Thank you!

COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY SUNDAY IS THE SECOND SUNDAY OF THE MONTH.
The pantry needs our contributions of food and other necessities. Spaghetti sauce, canned tuna, canned meats, and other high protein items are always needed and appreciated. Cash contributions may also be made using the envelopes in the pew racks. Simply mark them for “FOOD PANTRY” and place in the offering plate.
